Is It Safe To Use Terabox MOD APK 2024?

Ever wonder if it is safe to store our sensitive files in TeraBox cloud storage? Our data is stored somewhere on Earth, and we don’t even care about it. I did some research, and the results are quite interesting. TeraBox is one of the leading cloud storage providers today. In this guide, we shall discuss TeraBox cloud storage according to its security, privacy, features, and interface.

So, thoroughly investigate TeraBox to gather all the information. First, let’s address the most important concern: TeraBox’s security. TeraBox used to be known as Dubox Cloud Storage with its servers in China; a country famous for heavily policing citizens’ internet activities. So, it is clear without any doubt that Dubox didn’t guarantee complete security,  leading to many questions regarding its safety.

TeraBox Cloud Storage Overview

However, after changing the name to TeraBox, they rectified the situation for some time by migrating their servers to Japan, a country known for its citizens’ privacy. However, the company claims that it does not monitor any data of its users. Its end-to-end encryption means no one, not even the country, can access the files of users stored in its cloud servers.

Security:

According to TeraBox, it uses SFTP and HTTPS protocols to encrypt user files. It protects your files from unauthorized entry by protecting them with encryption protocols. However, Terabox has not given a name to its encryption protocols. It is strange and raises some questions, however, that all major cloud storage platforms have declared their encryption methods. To provide additional protection to users’ data, TeraBox introduced a Personal Vault where you can store your most sensitive data.

Password Encryption:

One feature that caught my attention is the password-protect link, which prevents unauthorized people from viewing documents they’ve received by mistake. Your shared links might have an access time specified for how long they will remain active.

Features

  • 1TB Storage:

Seeing TeraBox’s security and privacy could be better, let’s see if we’d enjoy its features. TeraBox’s unique selling point is its free storage space of 1 TB,   which completely dwarfs even the best cloud storage platforms.  To put things in context, the most popular cloud storage service, Google Drive,   offers a paltry 15 GB of free storage space,  while the second most popular, OneDrive,   features a measly 15 GB of free storage space. Talking about TeraBox’s free 1 TB storage space,   let me address this quickly.

Terabox Storage 1TB

Speculations suggest that TeraBox’s 1 TB expires after a week or that you must participate in some reward programs to enjoy it, which is completely false.  You can enjoy 1 TB of storage space once you sign up for their platform. However, there’s a catch which   I will come to later on in this article. TeraBox’s File Sharing feature lets you choose the medium you want your collaborators to receive files.

  • End-to-End Encrypted File Sharing:

You can share the files through email or a unique password-protected link, then set the number of days the link will be active. TeraBox warns that it does not allow users to upload any objectionable content. TeraBox also provides automatic backup for photos, videos, and folders, which will help you save space on your device.  The platform’s TeraTransfer feature allows you to share files with non-users.

  • Shareable Link Expiration:

Non-users get a file transfer limit of  50 GB and have a 24-hour link expiration limit. However, they’ll need to sign up to enjoy the full benefits of TeraTransfer, which includes unlimited file transfer and a link expiration limit. TeraBox doesn’t just allow you to play media files on its platform but it also allows you to choose the format in which you want to play the files. For example, you can choose between 720p and 1080p for videos.

  • User Interface:

You can easily set up TeraBox on your device. Just download the app, provide your email address and password, and you’re signed in. It features the typical drag-and-drop feature that characterizes most cloud storage services. The browser version is identical to the app, though I noticed the app’s loading time was quite faster.

The user interface will be familiar to most users as it has a resemblance to Google   Drive. It is clean, concise, and straight to the point, with useful icons that are easy to find. On the left is a clear visual representation of your data and the remaining storage on the left. The files and folders are arranged in the list form,  but you can arrange it in a format that suits you.

Mobile Application

However, the mobile app seems cluttered;  too many functions are displayed on the Home   Screen. You have the “Rewards,” “Photos,”  “Space Analyzer,” “Video Downloader,”   and “Shared Files” features all squeezed into a tiny space. So, while I fancy the Desktop version’s clean and concise look,   I think TeraBox could do better with arranging the Features on its mobile version. Navigating the Desktop was a breeze, but the cluttered nature of the mobile app makes it difficult to find some core functions like  “File Syncing.”

Conclusion

Look, I’m impressed with TeraBox’s huge free cloud storage of 1 TB,  which beats popular platforms like Google Drive,   OneDrive, and Dropbox. Its password-protected links with expiration dates are great,   and its video quality options are incredible. I like its clean and concise desktop user interface, and its automatic video backup is a plus. However, the security and privacy policy is getting stricter with time, so I recommend not storing sensitive files in any cloud-based storage. So, what are your general thoughts about TeraBox?
